Born in Bonn, in 1964, Dr. J.Cerqueiro obtained his medical degree at the University of Santiago de Compostela.
His Plastic Surgery experience started in 1988 as a medical student at the University Hospital of Santiago de Compostela shortly followed by the Department of Plastic Surgery of the Bogenhausen and the Grosshadern Hospitals in Munich (Germany).
In October 1998 he gained the Fellowship to the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (FRCS)
In the United Kingdom followed training in Plastic Surgery in NHS plastic surgery units in Birmingham, Oxford and London covering all the branches of this specialty. Thereafter completed a Fellowship in Aesthetic Surgery at the Institute of Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery in London.
Dr. J. Cerqueiro practices specific innovations of aesthetic plastic surgery as the minimally invasive face lift, MACS lift, fat grafting techniques, scarless otoplasty and brow lift, and other advancing plastic surgery techniques. He maintains close professional links in the UK, Switzerland (Geneva), France (Paris, Lyon), Germany (Munich), USA (New York, Santa Ana – California).
He participates regularly in professional meetings of his specialty and has published many articles in the medical literature.
